2nd Wisbech Orchards Now have Scouts!

Friday 7th of February at 5.00pm saw the start of 2nd Wisbech Orchards Scout Troop, as it opened for the first time. The event which cumulated in a mass making of the Scout Promise with the young people’s parents present, took place at Wisbech Orchards School.

Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud

Tolmers Fire & Ice 2014Last weekend saw 20 of Ely District's Scouts and Explorers join up with 1000 others from around the country at the annual Tomers Fire & Ice camp in Hertfordshire.

Activities on offer for the weekend included a fairground, gladiator fighting, shooting, archery, an Argo Cat and a gyroscopic ride. In true Tolmers style, the camp site was oozing with mud from the word go, which didn't phase the Scouts at all....the muddier the better.

Unfortunately we didn't see the sub-zero temperatures experienced at Gilwell's Winter Camp the weekend before, but everyone still enjoyed the weekend.

Here's looking forward to the same time, same place next year!

The event takes place at Gilwell Park, Chingford London. Gilwell is the home of Scouting and opens its doors every January for challenging adventure weekends which often involves snow and sub zero temperatures.
