Scouts from Sawtry to St Neots to Brington to Little Paxton to Southoe & Buckden took part. With a taster session in the morning and a full competition in the afternoon the Scouts had fun.

The event was lead by Qualified fishing Coach and Scout Leader Kevin with Southoe & Buckden Troop said

"My Scouts look forward to the fishing competition day as it is so competitive between all the Scouts as they try and land the biggest catch.>
This year’s Scout winners made it a one two for Southoe & Buckden Troop as Sam Reynolds landed over 23 lbs of fish, with Joe Reynolds coming second with 23 lbs of fish.”

Winning Scout Sam Reynolds said

“I was so surprised to win with my mega catch, Scouts can do many badges including the Anglers Badge. It was great fishing and it is thanks to the leaders that we can enjoy activities like the fishing day”

Scout Leader Arthur Towler said

“this is the third year we have done the Hinchingbrooke Fishing taster day and competition and each year there is always a new challenge. This year the Scouts biggest challenge was fishing in the windy conditions and do I fish with a pole with a rig on it or rod and line.
Most Scouts used the fishing pole with a rig and looking at the weights everyone was successful, some more so than others”
