Beavers Take Flight to Duxford

Early October, nearly 350 Beavers and Adults from across Cambridgeshire spread their wings and took flight to Duxford helping them achieve stage 2 of their Air Activities badge.

On Sunday 11 October Beavers and adults from around the county descended on the Imperial War Museum, Duxford. Beavers were able to navigate their way around the site using booklets produced by some of the County Beavers Team, matching pictures as the went around and exploring each of the hangars. As well as having a great day out and gain some insight into Aircraft from around the globe, they were able to gain up-to their Air Activities stage 2 Badge which is such a fantastic achievement for such a young age group.

While we were there, there were also Beaver Colonys from Lincolnshire and Hertfordshire which was brilliant to see so many young people enjoying themselves!

Whilst looking through a 'bomb sight', Max aged 6 from 1st Over St Mary's exclaimed "This is EPIC"

Finley 7, 1st Cambourne said "This is the best trip ever."

An adult from the Stretham Scout group added "it's been so lovely just watching the kids get enthusiastic about trying to find things from the booklet, I think they've all had such a great day!"

With more events like these coming in 2016, come back regularly for updates in the diary.
