The Adventure Programme Team at Gilwell are aware that those Leaders who need to renew Level 3 of their Water Safety Management qualifications have been having issues finding training.
Having been in touch with the RLSS, the programme team are going to help them organise some courses so that our members can access them, but they need us to provide them with numbers and locations.
If anyone in the County needs this training can you please let Tony Best know (with names and numbers) by Friday 20th February so that he can forward the information to the Activities office, who will then work with the RLSS to organise the training and let participants know when they can register. We appreciate that this is a very tight deadline but we know there are a number of people quite eager to get on these courses.
Cambridgeshire Beavers and Cubs are invited to join us:
Beavers 3 – 8 pm on Tuesday 18 August
Cubs 10 – 4 pm Wednesday 19 August
Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment, booking confirmation will be sent once payment has been received. The event is open to invested members from Cambridgeshire Beaver Colonies and Cub Packs – uniform or Colony/Pack T shirts required.
We are pleased to announce that Jackie Daniels has accepted the role of County Appointments Advisory Committee Secretary. Jackie is currently the Appointments Secretary of Cromwell District and her new role will not only be to process County appointments but also to support all of the other Appointments Secretaries across the County.
Jackie can be contacted here.
Many of you will have seen the recent communication from The Scout Association regarding an updated POR which has many changes to it and in particular concerning the recent revised programme and adventurous activities.
For those of you that are not aware The Scout Association have spent the last 4 years consulting with over 12,000 members as to how the current youth programme is working and what changes our members would like to see to it to reflect the needs of today's young people and the communities that they live in. The results are now in and the revised programme is due to be launched to us all at the end of this month so watch out for the various communications.
