The Scout Association East of England Region
£1000 per section
The East of England Region is seeking self-employed “Project Supporters” to work with the Regional Development Service and local Districts. Successful contractors will support new provision projects across the East of England Region during their initial set-up period of 20 weeks. These Project Supporter will provide hands-on, consistent and experienced advice and support to the new adult volunteers as they start to get used to running their section.
It is likely that potential supporters will be: experienced leaders, effective facilitators, happy to work both alone and in close co-operation with staff and volunteers and enthusiastic about starting new Scouting. It would also be desirable to have experience of working with young people who have additional needs as this will form a large aspect of these projects.
Supporters will be entitled to a sum of £1000 (inclusive of expenses and costs) for their input to the successful opening of each new section. There is the opportunity to provide support to more than one section in more than one area as agreed with the contracting Counties.
We are looking for a number of Supporters for our projects. We currently have 2 sections based in each of the following areas;
- Dunstable (Bedfordshire)
- Ely (Cambridgeshire)
- Hemel Hempstead (Hertfordshire)
- Chelmsford (Essex)
- Ipswich (Suffolk)
All of these current projects will be working with children with additional needs. The nature of the work means significant evenings will need to be worked and potentially occasional weekends.
Formal expressions of interest are required by 6th July with selection taking place on 18th July at a central location in the Region (to be confirmed).
