Outdoor First Aid

ITC logoIf there is enough interest, I will arrange for the 16 hour first aid course 'ITC Certificate in Outdoor First Aid at SCQF Level 5' to be delivered within the County over a single weekend.

Suitable for: Mountain Leaders, Climbing Instructors, Ski Instructors, Canoe and Kayak Instructors, Mountain Bike Instructors, Duke of Edinburgh's Award Leaders. Anyone spending time in the outdoors or wilderness environments through recreational, voluntary or work related activities.

This course is open to all Cambridgeshire Leaders but places are limited and priority will be given to Adventurous Activity Assessors, Adventurous Activity Permit holders and the County First Aid Team.

The training will run from 9:00am to 6:00 pm on both days and full attendance is required:

Contact time: Late arrivals or absences during the course or from any session will probably mean that candidates will not receive the qualification certificate for which they have joined the course. Qualifications have a mandatory contact time requirement.

Course requirements:  Candidates are attending an outdoor course and will go outside as determined by the trainer. Candidates are requested to bring outdoor clothing that covers all weather eventualities and allow the candidate to function effectively during the outdoor sessions and note that the course requires candidates to wear outdoor clothing on both internal floors and outside terrain.  Old waterproofs would be ideal.

Enrolment: increasing use of qualification certificates to support identity fraud and issues relating to assessment authenticity has resulted in all Training Centres having to verify candidate identity.  Please bring some form of photographic (e.g. driving licence) identity confirmation to the training course.

Booking: To register for a place on this course, or for more information, contact Tony Best.
