Duke of Edinburgh's Award

Duke of Edinburgh's Award

We provide a balanced programme of activities that develops the whole person – mind, body and soul – in an environment of social interaction and teamworking.  Young people progress through three levels of DofE programmes to achieve a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award.

Taking part builds confidence and develops self-esteem.  It requires persistence, commitment and has a lasting impact on the attitudes and outlook of all young people who do their DofE.

Our participants are aged between 14 and 24.

Section Leaders - Have you been asked by a young person if they can help you run your Section as part of their D of E Award? If so, there are a few important facts that you should know and it is worth checking that the D of E Award potential volunteers are aware of Scouting’s requirements before they start.

New Duke of Edinburgh's Award Advisors for County

DofE Awards LogoWelcome to the team, James & Gavin...

We are pleased to be able to announce the two new County Advisor appointments have been made to help support the management of the Duke of Edinburgh's (DofE) Awards within the County.

James Hutchings will cover the South of the County, with Gavin Philpott covering the North.  Both will be on hand to support DofE leaders in the County and deal with any queries.  They will also be available to help with promoting of the Awards to young people within Explorer Units and Network throughout the County.

It is hoped that this new County Advisor support, along with the registration and administration of the DofE Awards being managed through the County Office, will mean that we can offer more youth members the opportunity of working towards these internationally recognised awards as part of their Scouting in Cambridgeshire.

If you have any questions on DofE or would like to sign up participants for the award, please contact us via dofe at
